Summary: Use the Assessment of Google Usability Accessibility (AGUA) to measure the overall usability and health of a product for people with disabilities.
Overview
While GAR (Google Accessibility Rating) is used to determine the technical accessibility of a product or feature and general functionality, Assessment of Google Usability Accessibility (AGUA) is used to assess the quality of the user experience, ensuring products are both useful and usable. AGUA is complementary to GAR, but it is not part of a launch requirement process. However, we recommend doing both before launch as it’s important to focus on both to make an excellent product.
Measuring CUJ health
The Assessment of Google Usability Accessibility (AGUA) has step-by-step guidance on how to measure the health of tasks or CUJs for people with disabilities. AGUA can be done at any point along the product life cycle, starting at the very beginning when you start designing. Products should aim to resolve usability issues prior to launch to ensure a good user experience.
